Community members, outdoor advocates, and local vendors came together to celebrate trails, bikes, and the great outdoors in Cary.

The Triangle Trails Initiative brought the community together in a big way for the 2nd Annual Trail Activation Event at the Old Reedy Creek Trailhead in Cary, NC. Held on March 15th, the event ran from 10am to 2pm and offered a fun, informative, and active way to connect with local trail lovers and outdoor advocates.

With sunshine peeking through the early spring canopy and bikes rolling steadily down the trail, it was the perfect setting to highlight the Triangle’s vibrant outdoor culture. Several fantastic vendors and organizations came out to support the cause, including Triangle Off-Road Cyclists, Oaks and Spokes, Sierra Club, Oak City Cyclist, and the Town of Cary. Each offered valuable insights, resources, and gear for trail-goers of all ages and experience levels.

And let's not forget the food—Jive Turkey, a fan-favorite food truck, served up delicious bites to fuel the festivities. Whether you came for the trail talk, the community vibes, or just to grab a bite and soak in the scene, there was something for everyone.

The turnout? Solid. We had a steady stream of community members show up, explore, connect, and celebrate what makes Cary’s trail network such an important part of local life.

Here’s to more events that activate, inspire, and grow our trail community—see you on the path!
