Harnett County Greenways

Harnett County is the most recent county government in the Triangle Trails region to author and adopt a countywide greenway master plan. Harnett County states that the goal of the greenway plan is to: “...provide more recreational opportunities for residents and to make Harnett County a more attractive place for prospective residents and businesses. We’re creating a County-wide Bicycle, Pedestrian, & Greenway Master Plan to shape the development of future amenities for walking, cycling and trails in Harnett County.” More information about the plan can be found at the link below One of the signature trails areas within the County is Raven Rock State Park. The trails in the State Park are a key part of the Harnett County trail network. Explore Raven Rock's trails at the link below. Another of the signature greenways in Harnett County is the Dunn-Erwin Rail-Trail, a 5-mile trail that is also part of the East Coast Greenway. The East Coast Greenway is routed through Harnett County along the Dunn-Erwin Rail-Trail and a piece of the Cape Fear River Trail. An interactive map of the East Coast Greenway can be found at the link below. Harnett County is pursuing pilot project development that will link Campbell University to downtown Lillington, NC. The County is also looking into new trails that would link Lillington to Raven Rock State Park.
