Person County

Person County is located between the Virginia border and Durham County. Person County has quite a few parks, most of which have a paved walking trail of some sorts. Check out a map at the link below. Signature trails in Person County can be found at Mayo Lake Park, where visitors can enjoy both hiking and mountain biking on the park's nature trails. A map of Mayo Lake Park and its trails can be found below. Person County offers extensive opportunities for on-road bicycling. A portion of the North Carolina Lakes District Route dips into Person County and NC4/North Line Trace crosses through Person County and the City of Roxboro. Person County staff have collected some favorite local bicycling routes and put them in an app. One of the highlights of Person County is three world class disc golf courses. The Kraken is at Hyco Lake Park, the Rockness Monster is at Piedmont Community College, and the Sasquatch is at Mayo Park. While they are disc golf courses, the courses are also excellent locations to go hiking, especially the Rockness Monster and Sasquatch.
